2020 Edge Transmission Problem

Hi everyone
I just got 2020 Ford Edge SEL AWD. My question is about the transmission. It significantly jerks and hesitate through 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gear. This is not something happening sometimes. It’s always there. Upper shifts are smooth. When I google I saw some other people that have the same problem but nobody mentioned how to fix it.

Our local Ford dealership asked $210 for transmission diagnosis. They did not find any other issue when they perform multipoint vehicle inspection. The vehicle is still under powertrain warranty.

Any thoughts?

Ask dealer to perform a test to make sure the valvebody shift module is working good. I have some similar issues some time back and got a used shift module one from ebay from exact same year edge and it worked and i drove it for eight months and now its acting up again....i posted whats going on with mine and where im at now.

How did this work out? I have taken my Edge to the dealer service twice and they tell me it’s fine. I asked to do a flush and they recommend against it. They did do the diagnostic and it did make some improvements.

I took mine in for diagnostic. I was told it’s a torque converter shudder & due to the location & expense of the valve body a full transmission replacement is recommended, it will cost $11k!!

I had my torque converter replaced, and here I am thirty thousand miles later with the exact same issue as before I replaced it.

I ended up taking my Edge to our hometown mechanic. He flushed the fluids, replaced the filter and put in an additive, this was in August and to date it has resolved the shuddering!! I would try that 1st before you replace the torque converter or the entire transmission.
