Long shot question re: Sync4 and iPod Nano6

All my music is on a Nano 6 gen. It is NOT BlueTooth equipped. In previous cars I connected via USB cable but the Nano 6 is NOT compatible with Sync4, so I got a 30pin BlueTooth transmitter. Instruction on the transmitter say it pairs automatically. However, my Sync4 is not reading it.

Any electronics pros have a clue?
